Blog readability

I came to know about a blog's reading level from this entry at Temasik's World. By clicking at this link, blog owners can rate the readability of their blogs. And the result?

blog readability test

Apparently, my blog is at the postgraduate level. Notice the test tube, atomic stucture and rocket.

Afterthought: I tried this tool for my other two blogs which use mainly Malay language, and the outcome is that those blogs are at the genius level. My guess is that if the language used in the blogs couldn't be understood by the tool, it'd regard those blogs as having a high level of intelligence. To quote Homer (Simpson, not the philosopher): D'oh!

Treat the tool as something fun, and it shouldn't be taken seriously.

I obviously got upset with the tool when it rated my blog as fit for those with a high school reading capability. The tool is rather unstable. Try it at different times of the day and you'll get somewhat different results. I think the tool can read common non-English languages such as French and German but not crazy ones like Malagasi. So Malay is not that out of the question. I suspect the tool is unable to rate graphics and blog widgets, which means that if you have a lot of that, it'll spit out a pathetic rating.

Temasik_temagi: I guess the purpose of the tool is very much for entertainment and amusement, rather than a truly academic tool that gauges the level of one's blog. Shouldn't be taken too seriously, methinks.
