Since last Thursday, my office was disconnected from the rest of the world - cybernetically-speaking of course. It is quite frustrating when something like this happens. I had to put off all my e-mail correspondences until I get home. Earlier today, I even had to use the facilities at a cybercafe nearby as there were urgent matters that needed to be settled.
It is certainly no stroll in the park when using facilities at a cybercafe. The noise pollution was certainly a nuisance.
In any case, I am very happy now that the Internet connection is back on at the office as of mid-day. It is times like this that I realise that I have become highly dependent on the Internet.

Sorry to hear about your ofice internet disruption. I find myself having the same problem when I am on vacation overseas. Not all countries come with well equiped Internet Cafes in dime and dozen. My trip to Russia in September 2006 was a classic case. Everything from food to accommodation was so expensive there that I dared not think what they were charging per minute/hour for internet use.
The Internet problem at the office seems to be a recurring one of late. I couldn't get on the Internet again today. In fact, I'm writing this at home. It's very frustrating when you've plenty to do online at work. *sigh*
I know exactly what you mean. Your work life revolves around composing and publishing on the internet. I say fire the utilities provider (still called Tenaga Nasional since I left 15 years ago?)!!
